As a first-generation college graduate, teacher, and education policy leader, I’ve dedicated my entire career to ensuring the success of all children. I was inspired to run for the Texas State Board of Education, District 13 because I believe that every child in Texas deserves a great education.
My parents came to this country with dreams of a better life and valued the promise of an education. In my community, going to college was not the norm. Through the support of my parents and dedicated teachers, I overcame multiple challenges and was put on a path toward success. As your Board Member, I will fight to ensure every child has access to great teachers and principals in their neighborhood school.
I’m not a career politician. I’m an educator, policy leader and product of schools in District 13. As a kindergarten and 4th grade teacher, I developed a bilingual curriculum that put my students on a path to success. As an education policy advocate, I have worked tirelessly to end educational inequities at the local, state, and national level.
I am extremely proud that the majority of voters supported my vision for Texas schools on November 4th and am excited to serve as your representative on the State Board of Education.
If you have ideas for how we can strengthen Texas’ schools, or have questions, please reach out to me at EBeltranSBOE@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
